If you have never equated fashion with automobiles, you aren’t alone. While many people think that their cars are stylish, they don’t necessarily consider them to be fashion accessories. You may change your mind when you realize how often the worlds of automobiles and fashion merge. Whether it’s to raise money for charity or simply an effort to make cars more beautiful, several fashion designers have used their creative genius to design vehicles that may be more at home on the runway than the highway. Here are a few cars that have been stylized by some of the best and brightest in the world of fashion:
Polka Dot Smart Car
Jun Wattanabe has followed up his Reebok collaboration with a fabulously styled Smart Car. Accented with fabulous pinks and purples, this Smart Car is sure to turn heads as it
travels down the street. With black polka dots on a white background, the car is a fabulous example of just how beautiful a car can look. The bold accents and in-your-face dots won’t be for everyone, but even if you don’t want to drive the car, you’ll still appreciate its creativity.
Fiat 500 – Gucci
This sexy, black car is small in size but big in looks. Though the small size of the car has turned off some motorists, the impact that Gucci has had on the car turns the small stature of the Fiat 500 into an afterthought. With strong red and green striping on the inside and out, Gucci has given a modern edge to this compact car.
Range Rover – Victoria Beckham
You may not be a fan of the Spice Girls, but you’ve got to give it up to Mrs. Beckham for her amazing fashion sense. The Range Rover Evoque is sleek yet masculine, providing appeal for a wide range of car shoppers. If the vehicle itself isn’t enough to win you over, maybe the included purse will be enough to tip you over the edge.
Mini Cooper – Kenneth Cole
Move over Austin Powers; Kenneth Cole has gotten his hands on the Mini and completely transformed it. If you’re familiar with Kenneth Cole’s designs, the look of the car will come as no surprise to you. If you aren’t familiar with Mr. Cole’s love of leather and metal, you may be a bit taken aback when you see this zippy new Cooper. Covered in metal studs on the outside and outfitted with biker-like leather on the inside, the Mini has been given a tough new look.
Lamborghini Murcielago – Versace
It’s not that we think the Lamborghini needed any help, but Versace has transformed this gorgeous car into something otherworldly beautiful. The Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640 is limited to ten vehicles in total, making getting your hands on one close to impossible. Though the exterior is only available in two color options, black and white, the interior is unique enough to make the exterior virtually inconsequential. The quilted leather covering the seats and the Greek fret pattern throughout the interior will make you wonder what took Lamborghini so long to partner with Versace.
While fashion may not be your thing, you won’t be able to help but appreciate the intricate styling of these automobiles. If you’ve been waiting to be able to drive the most unique car in the neighborhood, now is your chance. Any one of these five cars will guarantee to turn heads and garner appreciative looks from all of the people that you cruise past.
